Art & Food

Design & full-stack development

  • Ruby on Rails
  • Hotwire
  • PostgreSQL
  • Sidekiq
  • Twilio
  • AWS S3

The context

Art & Food connects private chefs with villas and concierge companies, for bespoke culinary services. Behind the apparent simplicity — "the right chef, in the right place, at the right time" — lies dense logistics: verified profiles, skills, availability, contracts, mission tracking, payments, reviews.

The challenge

Building a two-sided trust platform (chefs / clients) that handles the full lifecycle of a mission, from matching to invoicing, at a standard worthy of the high-end: verified identity, signed documents, zero friction.

My answer

  • Complete marketplace in Ruby on Rails (Hotwire, PostgreSQL): chefs, clients, villas, concierge companies, missions and schedules.
  • AI-assisted matching to suggest the best-suited chef for each request (culinary skills, languages, region, availability).
  • Identity verification (KYC) and OTP two-factor authentication to secure sensitive accounts.
  • Built-in e-signature: contract templates, signature requests, tracking.
  • End-to-end mission cycle: check-in / check-out, work time, unavailabilities, reviews (chefs & clients), internal messaging and notifications.
  • Background jobs (Sidekiq), transactional SMS (Twilio), file storage (AWS S3), multi-country / multi-region.

The result

A robust business platform, built for the demands of the luxury sector. The collaboration has since ended and the service is no longer online, but Art & Food remains one of the most complete architectures I've designed — proof that I can carry a real product, from the data model to the user experience.
